Fresh look with smarter checkout: How Exki is rethinking the in-store experience
About Exki
Founded in Belgium, Exki has built its reputation on a simple but ambitious idea: fast food doesn't have to mean compromised food. With a menu rooted in natural, seasonal, and balanced ingredients, Exki has carved out a distinct space in the grab & go category — one where quality and convenience are not in opposition. Operating across Belgium and beyond, Exki serves a customer who is health-conscious, time-pressed, and unwilling to choose between the two.
Today, the brand is in the middle of a bold evolution: a visual facelift, a renewed food offer, and a sharpened in-store experience — all moving together as a single, coherent transformation.
The challenge
Exki was investing heavily in what customers could see and taste: a refreshed brand identity, an elevated menu, and a reimagined store environment. But there was a moment in every visit that risked undoing that work — the checkout. In a grab & go context, the final transaction carries disproportionate weight. Slow, clunky, or impersonal payment experiences create a quiet contradiction between what a brand promises and what a customer actually feels walking out the door.
Exki needed a checkout solution that matched the ambition of everything else they were building. Not just functional — but frictionless, on-brand, and capable of deepening the customer relationship rather than simply closing a sale.
The solution
After connecting, Deligo and Exki didn't approach this as a simple vendor-client relationship. From the outset, the goal was to build something that felt native to the Exki experience — not a piece of technology placed inside it, but a natural extension of it.
Deligo developed a fully custom interface for Exki customers — visual design, colour palette, and interaction patterns aligned with the Exki brand facelift. When a customer steps up to a kiosk at Bourse, they're not looking at generic checkout software. They're looking at Exki.
Custom branded interface: Full visual alignment with Exki's refreshed brand identity — colours, typography, and tone.
MyExki loyalty integration: Seamless connection to the MyExki loyalty card, so every visit counts toward customer rewards.
Pre-order coffee: Customers can order their coffee ahead through the kiosk — ready when they are, no queue required.
Stylish, compact hardware: Deligo Minis are built for grab & go environments: slim footprint, premium feel, zero visual noise.
How it happened
The partnership started with a single machine at Exki's Bourse flagship store in Brussels — intentionally modest, built for learning. The pilot wasn't about proving the technology in theory. It was about watching real customers use it, understanding their behaviour, and refining the experience in response.
Phase 1 — Pilot: One Deligo kiosk installed at Bourse. Customer reactions observed, flow tested, interface refined.
Phase 2 — Validation: Data and feedback confirmed the concept. Customers responded positively to the speed, the brand alignment, and the loyalty integration.
Phase 3 — Scale: Two additional kiosks were added. Bourse now runs three Deligo machines — a full checkout transformation at the flagship level.
Why this matters for franchise growth
Technology done well doesn't just improve the customer experience — it strengthens the brand proposition for everyone invested in it. For Exki's franchise network, the Deligo implementation signals something important: that Exki is an operator that takes the full in-store experience seriously, down to the final second of every visit.
A modern, seamless checkout experience makes Exki a more attractive proposition for franchisees. It reduces operational complexity, elevates the store's perceived quality, and demonstrates that the brand is building for the future — not just maintaining the present.
