How INSEAD Asia Campus transformed dining with AI-powered checkout

A campus dining experience ready for its next chapter

INSEAD is one of the world's leading business schools, drawing students, faculty, and researchers from across the globe to its Asia Campus in Singapore. The campus runs on high expectations — and for years, the dining experience wasn't meeting them.

During peak periods — between lectures, before seminars, during limited lunch windows — queues at dining outlets stretched beyond what busy schedules could accommodate. Staff time was also consumed by manual signage updates across multiple venues. And with dining spread across distinct formats and locations, there was no unified platform tying the experience together.

Sodexo Singapore, the long-term food services partner at INSEAD, recognised that the solution wasn't more staff or more space. It was smarter technology.

One platform, three dining formats

The rollout brought Sodexo's Everyday platform together with Deligo AI self-checkout kiosks, creating a fully connected digital dining ecosystem across the INSEAD Asia Campus.

Three distinct venues, three distinct formats, all on one platform: AI self-checkout at The Hub, pre-ordering at Tenjay Coffee, and digital table service at Insider's Den. For the first time, students, faculty, and staff could move between venues with a consistent, seamless experience regardless of how or where they chose to dine.

Deligo's AI visual detection technology sits at the heart of the checkout experience. Diners place their items on the kiosk — no scanning, no precise placement, no prompts — and the system identifies everything instantly. It's fast enough to feel frictionless and intuitive enough that no instruction is needed.

Results that arrived immediately

The data from the first weeks of operation made the impact clear. Transactions that had previously formed long queues were now completing in under six seconds. During peak lunch periods, queue lengths dropped by more than 60% — transforming the experience for everyone moving through the dining spaces.

The response from the campus community was immediate. Within the first two weeks, the platform had accumulated more than 80 five-star reviews and a 4.75-star satisfaction rating — a result that reflects not just speed, but a genuine improvement in the overall experience.

Behind the counter, the gains were just as significant. Unified omnichannel signage — updated centrally across all venues — saved teams approximately 45 minutes of operational time every day. That's time redirected toward food quality and hospitality rather than manual administration.

"Our collaboration with Sodexo on the Everyday & Deligo launch has been a game-changer. By integrating AI-led checkout and omnichannel digital services, we aren't just improving speed; we are creating a tech-forward campus environment that matches the world-class excellence INSEAD is known for. It's a true partnership in innovation."

The foundation of a long-term partnership

The INSEAD launch is a milestone in an ongoing and expanding relationship between Deligo and Sodexo. Deligo is now live with Sodexo across five countries, deployed in workplace dining halls and campuses where operational excellence and high volumes demand technology that genuinely performs.

The partnership is built for the long term. Sodexo brings world-class food service expertise; Deligo brings the modern checkout infrastructure that allows that expertise to shine without friction getting in the way. Together, the two companies are able to offer clients something that neither could deliver alone: exceptional hospitality backed by technology that disappears into the background.

For campus environments specifically, the combination is particularly powerful. Students and faculty don't want to think about how they're paying for their lunch — they want to grab it and go. Deligo's AI checkout makes that possible at scale, without requiring any change in how food is prepared or presented.

What comes next

The INSEAD Asia Campus is the beginning of a wider regional rollout. With further launches planned across Singapore and Malaysia in September, Sodexo and Deligo are continuing to expand the Everyday platform to more campuses and workplace dining environments across the region.

Each new location builds on the same foundation: a unified digital ecosystem, AI-powered speed at checkout, and a dining experience that respects the time of the people it serves. For institutions with the reputation and expectations of INSEAD, that's not a nice-to-have — it's the standard.
